Our next mix comes to us from Canadian techno pioneer, Jay Zoney. In 1994, Jay started DJing in Vancouver’s underground club and party scene. He was a frequent guest on Vancouver’s first Techno radio show “Homebass” hosted by long-time friend DJ Noah. In 1997 he was one of the founding fathers of the infamous Munson Family production company. The Munson Family been throwing events in Vancouver and her surrounding islands both indoor and outdoor for well over a decade. This crew is responsible for the inception of the annual Carrington Bay Festival which has been growing in popularity and size during it’s 15 year lifespan. Jay continues to develop his own unique brand of moody, dark Techno with an underlying message of love.
As a producer Jay has released his music on labels such as LW Recordings, Flatlife Records Digital, Subspec, Super 6 Records and his own imprint Eternal Drive Recordings. You can catch him playing along side his Subspec Records label partner JGarrett at our upcoming Movement Electronic Music Festival official after party Interface 47 | Scene 22 on Sunday, May 25th here in Detroit.
