"Podcast"

It’s Monday, May 21st and we are excited to give you a special podcast this week as a warm up for the Movement FestivalAgony Forces is a Spanish  musical team from Santander in northern Spain set up by PEARL and Sharin.  They have been working together developing and refining their style since 2005.

Heavily influenced by the sound of the British 90′, these two artists combine unique electronic sounds with other harder and more profound elements, making their live performance one of the most powerful and dynamic in the current scene.  In 2007 they began performing at clubs and festivals in northern Spain, and at Aquasella in 2009 where they shared the stage with some of the best national and international techno artists.

This duo is recognized by well-known Spanish artists like Oscar Mulero and Christian Wunsch.  Their productions have been released internationally by renowned labels such as Tsunami Records, Warm up or Arms Recordings (Audio Assault), where they shared work with artists such as Radial, Grovskopa, Luka Baumann or Ben Gibson among others.

Besides their work in Agony Forces, both artists are involved in other avant-garde projects, making their work recognized in other areas outside the club circuit, opening their music up to other audiences.  Keep up with the work of Agony Forces on Beatport & Soundcloud.

This week we are pleased to give you Italian artist Mario Mangiapia aka Mintech, born in Naples on January 23, 1989.  From the age of 11 he has been close to the electronic music scene, following his favorite artists’ concerts.  The turning point for Mario was in 2006 when he met up with an old friend (Alex Modigliani) and together they made their first studio.

There were many releases under the name “Moditech” that was later also the name of their label Moditech Records (2008).  Mario has been influenced by global pioneers of techno: Chris Liebing, Speedy J, Joseph Capriati, Adam Beyer, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, and Eric Sneo to name a few.  Mario’s sound began to change, experimenting with the grooves in his tracks making them more dark, experimental and minimal and had released his tracks on labels such as: Remain, Gayle San Records (GSR), Darknet,  Amazone, Slap Jaxx, GON, and Lost Demos.  Look for upcoming releases on: Naked Lunch, Elektrax, Android Muziq, PlusEins, Bass Assault and many more (with important collaborations).

Mario also takes part in events with a group created with his friends called “Decompressed” which has booked artists such as: Eric Sneo, Gayle San, A. Paul, Sven Wittekind, Chris Liberator, Axel Karakasis and many more.  Keep up with Mintech on Facebook and Soundcloud.
